The Industrieverband Verkehrszeichen e.V. (IVZ), founded in 1955, is an important player in the field of road equipment in Germany. Its activities are now carried out by the Traffic Signs Department in the Industrieverband Straßenausstattung e.V. (IVSt).
The IVZ and its associated organizations, such as the Güteschutzgemeinschaft Verkehrszeichen und Verkehrseinrichtungen e.V. (GVZ) and StrAus-Zert, are dedicated to ensuring the quality and conformity of traffic signs and traffic facilities. The GVZ is the organization recognized by RAL for carrying out quality assurance, which is documented by the RAL quality mark on the products. StrAus-Zert is a certification body for stationary vertical traffic signs notified by the DIBt.

The IVSt, as an umbrella organization, has the goal of maintaining safety on German roads at a high level through continuous improvements in products and services in road equipment. The association informs about current developments in standards, technical specifications and draft laws and offers a platform for specialist events.
