Jugendsozialarbeit Schanzenviertel e.V. is an established association that has been actively involved in the Hamburger Schanzenviertel for many years in order to actively shape the social structure of the district. The association's goal is to support children, adolescents and young adults in their development and to open up perspectives for them.
The range of services is broad and includes various projects and activities. A central point of contact is the "Café Eins", an open meeting place for children and young people that offers space for encounters, leisure activities and creative development. In addition, the association organizes group projects and leisure activities, including international youth exchanges, which promote intercultural learning and the reduction of prejudices.
Another important pillar is the "JobKontor", which opens up perspectives on the labor market for young people without training or employment. Here they can gain initial professional experience in various areas such as gastronomy, kitchen or daycare center and prepare for a school leaving certificate. In addition, the association offers advice and coaching for young people up to the age of 25 who are difficult to reach due to a variety of problems. The aim is to reduce barriers to placement and enable professional integration.
Jugendsozialarbeit Schanzenviertel e.V. also sees itself as a meeting place for families and children from the district and as a contact point for people in difficult life situations. In cooperation with the Elternschule Eimsbüttel, offers are created for families. The association is also a place for cultural activities and events and serves as an important interface for networking with professional and non-professional aid institutions within the framework of the "KOOP-Schanzenviertel".
The association attaches great importance to the promotion of diversity and democracy. This is reflected in the international exchange programs, which focus on the diversity of the respective societies and promote intercultural dialogue. One example of this is the regular expert exchange with Israel, in which experts from various areas of youth work come together to discuss how to deal with different narratives and perspectives in diverse societies.
Jugendsozialarbeit Schanzenviertel e.V. is financed by the European Social Fund ESF and by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
