The Jugendwohngruppe Müller in Linden is a private institution of stationary youth welfare, which has specialized in the care of girls since 1982. Founded by Barbara and Günther Müller, the residential group is now managed in the second generation by their daughter Anna-Lena Schaub (Diplom-Pädagogin), who lives in the same house with her husband Elmar Schaub (Sportpädagoge) and their daughters.[1][2][3]
The facility offers a familiar, reliable home with round-the-clock care that exemplifies healthy family structures. A central focus is on sport and exercise, complemented by creative activities to individually support the girls. Here, the residents learn to act in a group, to feel a sense of belonging, and to respectfully perceive their differences – inspired by the motto: "Never compare a child to another, but always only to themselves" (Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi).[1][2][3]
The qualified team of Diplom-Pädagoginnen, social workers, social professionals, teachers and domestic staff work hand in hand. The care is supplemented by cooperations, such as with the Praxiszentrum Glasmann und Aigner in Linden, as well as networks in the Gießen district, in order to cover a wide range of youth welfare needs.[1][2][3]
The main mission of the residential group is to create an oasis of well-being in which girls experience acceptance, respect and belonging. Respectful interaction, acceptance of different attitudes and the exemplification of family structures are at the heart of everything.
