Kindergärtnerei Herne e.V.

The Kindergärtnerei is a parent initiative in Herne that is dedicated to the loving care, education and support of children aged zero to six years until they start school. A total of 30 children are cared for in two groups, the Gänseblümchengruppe (0-3 years) and the Sonnenblumengruppe (2-6 years). Attention is paid to a balanced gender mix and inclusion as well as the integration of children with a migration background are actively promoted.

An important aspect of the work is the personality development of each child. The children should express their feelings, communicate their needs and develop independence. The Kindergärtnerei promotes self-competence, the ability to build relationships and integrate into the community. Likewise, subject-matter competence is conveyed by promoting perception and arousing interest in nature and the environment.

The daily routine is structured to give the children security, but also adapts to their individual needs. It includes free play, offers from various educational areas, meals and rest periods. Weekly rituals, such as the small group day for the older children with age-appropriate support offers and the school project to prepare for school, strengthen cohesion and promote development. Physical education is promoted through weekly gymnastics in a nearby gym. For the younger children there are daily walks and stays in the outdoor area. Playful English lessons are also offered.

The Kindergärtnerei attaches great importance to a healthy and varied diet. Fresh meals are prepared daily, with attention paid to a balanced composition.

Close cooperation with parents is an essential part of the pedagogical work. Regular discussions, parents' evenings and the involvement of parents in various activities create a trusting basis to optimally support the development of the children. The parents actively participate in the Kita life through parental services and participation in festivals.

The premises of the Kindergärtnerei extend over three floors and are designed to offer a quiet and cozy atmosphere. The group rooms are divided into different areas and offer the children both stimulation and retreat possibilities. A movement room and an outdoor area complete the offer.
