The
The KIP gGmbH (Society for Crisis Intervention and Crisis Prevention) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting mental health and preventing crises. Founded by the sponsors of the Berliner Krisendienst and funded by the Berlin Senate, the KIP gGmbH has set itself the goal of establishing and disseminating low-threshold and non-profit services in the field of mental health.
A core element of the offer are the MHFA-First Aider courses (Mental Health First Aid), which are carried out according to the licensed model of MHFA International. These courses provide basic knowledge and skills to recognize and adequately support people in mental emergencies. The KIP gGmbH offers these courses for various target groups, including individuals (free for Berliners), teams and organizations from the profit and non-profit sector, as well as for schools and youth work.
In addition, the KIP gGmbH is involved in the development and implementation of target group-specific formats, for example for employees in communal accommodation for refugees. In cooperation with the DeBUG project, specific training courses are offered here on topics such as introduction to mental disorders and protection against violence, suicide prevention as well as self-care and resilience.
Another important offer is the evidence-based health promotion and prevention program YAM (Youth Aware of Mental Health) for young people and school classes, which is carried out in cooperation with the Mental Health Initiative gGmbH. The aim of YAM is to strengthen the mental health of young people, prevent mental illnesses and suicides, and reduce the social stigma towards people with mental illnesses.
The KIP gGmbH works with numerous partners and cooperation partners, including the Berliner Krisendienst and the Central Institute for Mental Health Mannheim (MHFA First Aider project).
As a non-profit organization, the KIP gGmbH relies on donations to expand and further develop its crisis intervention and crisis prevention projects.
