KITA AKTIV is a daycare center in the multicultural Hamburg district of Hamm, offering care for children in the nursery and elementary areas. Up to 70 children are cared for in small groups by a multicultural team. The facility offers nursery groups, family groups and elementary groups.
As a sponsor, KITA AKTIV gives every child the opportunity to actively, independently and in solidarity with others shape their present life. The Kita sees itself as a mirror of society with its values ​​and norms and is committed to ensuring that every child has the same rights and opportunities for a life worth living. KITA AKTIV works closely with parents and educators and sees itself as part of the educational partnership.
The pedagogical work is based on the Hamburger Bildungsempfehlung. Every child has the opportunity to develop at their own pace and to promote and strengthen their skills. In the morning there is a fixed time in which the children in small groups deal with topics in the areas of preschool work, language development, music, science, creativity, health, exercise and woodwork.
An important part of the concept is language integration and the targeted promotion of the German language. The facility works with a "Lesefee" and regularly visits the library. Through the cooperation with the AOK, the facility may call itself a "Gesundheitskindertagesstätte".
KITA AKTIV is committed to education for sustainable development and carries out actions such as "Hamburg räumt auf" and the project "Wasser ist Leben". The facility opens up to the outside world to promote regionalization. Employees of the Polizei Hamburg regularly carry out traffic education, and the children sing with seniors in the senior center.
