The Klinikum Bremerhaven Reinkenheide gGmbH (KBR) is the municipal hospital in Bremerhaven and, as a modern acute care hospital with comprehensive care, ensures the health care of the city and region around the clock. With 833 beds, 16 clinics, two institutes and a Medical Care Center (MVZ), the KBR offers a wide range of medical services. Around 26,000 patients are treated as inpatients, 20,000 as outpatients and 43,000 as emergency cases every year. This makes the KBR the largest hospital in the Unterweser region.

Innovations, such as the Nurse-led Unit, the presentation at the World Congress of the International Council of Nurses (ICN) show the commitment to advanced care concepts.
Sustainability and Environmental Protection:
The KBR is actively committed to environmental protection and sustainable use of resources. Through energy-saving contracting, annual energy and water consumption has been reduced by more than 43 percent since 2005 and the environment is relieved of around 3,700 tons of CO2 emissions every year. For this commitment, the KBR was awarded the "Energy-Saving Hospital" seal of the BUND and received the "Climate Oscar 2005" from the Bremen Senator for the Environment.
Education and Career:
The KBR offers a variety of training and further education opportunities in various areas, especially in nursing. The Pflegeakademie Seestadt Bremerhaven at Klinikum Bremerhaven-Reinkenheide is the oldest nursing school in Bremerhaven and offers a pleasant teaching and learning atmosphere. The KBR is an academic teaching hospital of the University of Göttingen and cooperates with the Hochschule Bremerhaven in the "Physician Assistant" course.
