The Konrad Krieger Stiftung is an owner-managed foundation that was founded by the entrepreneur Konrad Krieger. It is dedicated to promoting the diversity of nature and culture, with a strong focus on the Lower Rhine region. "We give ideas space" - this is its motto, which emphasizes long-term partnerships and sustainable projects.[2][1]
Konrad Krieger comes from a family of entrepreneurs with a long tradition. His grandfather Conrad Krieger founded Gerhard Hülskens & Cie. GmbH in Wesel in 1905 together with Gerhard Hülskens, which specialized in making the Rhine navigable, extracting gravel and sand, producing concrete and forwarding building materials. Krieger learned the business from the ground up and joined the management of Hülskens GmbH & Co. KG in 1983. Today he is the managing partner of Hülskens Holding GmbH & Co. KG, which includes several companies with around .[1][4]
As a successful entrepreneur, Krieger sees it as a duty to give back to society. He sees it as a privilege to have shaped his life freely and now wants to support people who use their time, intellect and ideas for a better society and environment. The foundation finances precisely such initiatives by creating the financial framework.[1]
The core task of the foundation is the promotion of nature and animal protection, art and culture, research and youth work. A clear regional reference to the Lower Rhine characterizes all activities. The foundation relies on long-term partnerships that enable individuality and diversity and develop sustainable effects. It creates framework conditions for projects that preserve civilizational values and secure a vibrant cultural landscape.[2][6]
Values such as reliability, flexibility and pragmatism characterize the foundation. Managing Director Dr. Michael Kadgien emphasizes: "Our goal is to offer young artists opportunities and spaces." The foundation operates independently and is committed to preserving natural diversity and cultural heritage.[6]
The foundation develops projects together with partners that impress with long-term and sustainable impact. It acts as a flexible supporter who turns innovative ideas into reality - from regional cultural preservation to global environmental protection.[6]
Sustainability is central: The foundation promotes initiatives that secure ecological diversity and preserve cultural values in the long term. The focus is on protection projects for nature and animals as well as education-related programs that strengthen future generations. Targeted funding creates a framework for projects with a lasting impact that shape the Lower Rhine as a vibrant space.[2][1][6]
The Konrad Krieger Stiftung embodies the spirit of an entrepreneur who combines success with social responsibility. It makes projects possible that sustainably enrich nature, culture and people - a commitment that creates inspiration and change.[1][2]
