The Körber-Stiftung, founded in 1959 by entrepreneur Kurt A. Körber, is a non-profit organization based in Hamburg that is dedicated to promoting social change and international understanding. With an endowment of 578 million euros and around 160 employees, the foundation is involved in over 40 projects that are both nationally and internationally oriented.
The Körber-Stiftung initiates and supports projects in the areas of "Knowledge for Tomorrow," "International Understanding," "Vibrant Civil Society," and "Cultural Impulses for Hamburg." Among the most significant initiatives are the KörberForum, which organizes around 80 public events annually on socially relevant topics, and the Körber Start-Hub, which provides young entrepreneurs with a platform to establish and network social start-ups.
