Kreisverwaltung Plön

The Kreis Plön is a modern service administration that performs both municipal and state tasks. Located in a region with around 50 km of Baltic Sea coast and about 80 lakes, including the largest in Schleswig-Holstein, the Kreis Plön offers a variety of leisure and recreational opportunities.

The Kreisverwaltung Plön is responsible for a wide range of services that affect the lives of citizens. These include:

• Citizen service: Vehicle registration, driver's license office, foreigners authority, building authority, waste management and health. Many of these services are also available online to make them easier for citizens to access.
• Education and Social Affairs: Operation of grammar schools, a regional school, a vocational training center and a support center. In addition, benefits are granted in accordance with Social Code XII and offers are provided in youth work and care.
• Kreis development: Promotion of digitization, climate protection, sustainable mobility and tourism.
• Kreis planning: Consideration of demographic change and implementation of census surveys.
• Healthcare and food monitoring: Control of animal diseases, animal welfare and rescue services.
• Construction and maintenance of Kreis roads.
• Hunting and weapons authority.
• Environmental protection and fire and disaster protection.

The Kreis Plön is committed to sustainable development and promotes climate protection measures and adaptation to climate change. A particular focus is on promoting electromobility and developing a regional local transport plan.

The Kreis Plön is also heavily involved in the integration of migrants and refugees and offers a wide range of support services for volunteers and network partners.

The strategic goals of the Kreis are set by the Kreistag, which is made up of representatives from various factions. The Kreis Plön strives to be a citizen-oriented and modern service provider and to continuously improve the quality of life of its citizens.
