The main mission of the LAG Soziokultur Schleswig-Holstein e.V. is to promote and strengthen sociocultural diversity in the state. The organization is committed to ensuring that citizens actively participate in shaping their neighborhoods and create meeting places through cultural activities. A central concern of the LAG is the promotion of sustainable structures within sociocultural institutions. With the introduction of the structural funding of the state in 2022, a significant funding program was launched that supports not only art and culture projects but also organizational development in sociocultural institutions. This initiative aims to strengthen the resilience and capacity of the actors and thus ensure sustainable cultural offerings in the long term.
One outstanding project of the LAG is the "Children's Theater of the Month," which has been providing a diverse theater offering for children throughout Schleswig-Holstein since 1993. With performances by seven (inter)national and regional groups at around 22 locations in the state, the project has become a fixed institution in the cultural landscape.
