Landesfachverband Medienbildung Brandenburg

The main mission of the lmb is to strengthen the media literacy of professionals working with children and adolescents. The association understands media education as a cross-sectional task for society as a whole and works based on current scientific findings. It advocates for equal access and inclusive media education offerings and defends the interests of young people and its members in dialogue with professional politics and administration[1][3].

• Media Education Expertise: The lmb works to establish and strengthen media education expertise in the state. This is achieved through the qualification and networking of professionals as well as support for youth and educational institutions[1][3].
• State Initiative "Media Competence Strengthens Brandenburg": The association is an implementation partner of this initiative and contributes to developing and implementing media education measures and projects that promote media competence in Brandenburg[2][3].
• Framework Agreement with the Ministry of Education: Since 2004, there has been a framework agreement with the Ministry of Education that regulates cooperation between schools and extracurricular media education partners and forms the basis for comprehensive media education training programs and the JIM network[1].

The Landesfachverband Medienbildung Brandenburg e.V. is thus a central actor in the media education landscape of Brandenburg, contributing through its diverse offerings and initiatives to make media education a natural part of youth work and education.
