The Landesjugendring Nordrhein-Westfalen is a working group of 25 youth associations and one affiliated association that have been committed to the interests of young people since 1948. The LJR NRW represents these interests in public and towards politics and other social groups.
The main mission of the LJR NRW is to help shape and secure the framework conditions for youth association work. It is involved in fundamental issues of child, youth, education and social policy to ensure that young people, regardless of their social status, religion or origin, are heard and can help shape the world around them.

The LJR NRW is currently involved in initiatives such as the Action Plan for Youth Participation and workshops on racism critique. It also promotes projects for the prevention of sexualized violence and is committed to the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
