The Federal Association of Protestant Disability Assistance e.V. (BeB) is a leading association in the field of disability assistance and social psychiatry. Together with the Institute for Human, Ethics, and Science (IMEW), BeB develops innovative projects to promote the participation and co-determination of people with disabilities.
The mission of BeB is to strengthen the rights and opportunities for co-determination of people with disabilities. The association advocates for an inclusive society in which people with disabilities can actively participate in decision-making processes. A central value is the promotion of self-determination and participation to improve the quality of life of those affected[1][3].
BeB is committed to sustainable changes in society through long-term projects such as the five-year project “Hier bestimme ich mit – An Index for Participation.” This project aims to improve participation opportunities for people with cognitive and mental impairments. The association works closely with people with disabilities to ensure that their needs and opinions are considered in decision-making processes[3][4].
Through close collaboration with various stakeholders and the development of participatory tools such as the question collection, BeB sets important impulses for a more inclusive and participatory society.
