The LKJ Sachsen e.V., founded in 1992, is the umbrella and professional association for cultural education for children and youth in Saxony. The association represents the diversity of its 18 state-wide professional associations from the fields of theater, music, art, and media as well as cultural institutions.
The LKJ Sachsen e.V. advocates for the fundamental right to cultural participation and barrier-free access for all children and young people in Saxony. The association is guided by the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and promotes self-efficacy, skill acquisition, intercultural learning, and civic engagement. The work of the association is characterized by lobbying, cooperation, and networking to secure structures in the field of work and provide needs-based resources[2][3].
The LKJ Sachsen e.V. is a central actor in Saxony's youth and cultural work, advocating for the cultural education and participation of children and young people for over 30 years.
