The State Association for Cultural Youth Education Thüringen e.V. (LKJ) is the central umbrella and professional association for actors in cultural children and youth education in Thüringen. As a recognized provider of independent youth services, the LKJ brings together over 30 state-wide professional organizations and state associations, which include around 1100 clubs, ensembles, groups, and working groups.
The LKJ is committed to realizing the rights of all young people to cultural participation, social involvement, and equitable living and educational opportunities. Equal opportunities for children and young people are at the center of its activities. The LKJ represents the interests of its members and the associated children and young people in public, towards politics and authorities[2].
The LKJ continuously works to further develop and strengthen the goals and offerings of its member organizations together. By promoting cultural competencies and supporting young people in developing their social and professional skills, the LKJ contributes to the sustainable development of society. The LKJ is also engaged in the service center for funding, to support its members in acquiring and managing funding, thus ensuring the sustainability of their projects[1][2].
