The Lukas-Werk Gesundheitsdienste GmbH is a specialized company of the diaconal group of the Evangelische Stiftung Neuerkerode (esn) and offers a comprehensive network of health services in the area of Addiction Assistance, Psychosomatics and Rehabilitation in Southeastern Lower Saxony.[1][3][5] With six specialist outpatient clinics, three day rehabilitation clinics, an inpatient rehabilitation clinic, as well as services in the Integrated Health Service Neuerkerode (IGN) and in the Medical Treatment Center for Adults with Intellectual Disabilities (MZEB), the company advises, treats and cares for over 4,000 people annually - including clients with addiction problems, psychological and psychosomatic illnesses, as well as relatives.[2][3]
The range of services includes a broad, individual offer from outpatient to inpatient measures:
In 2024 alone, 11,333 counseling sessions were conducted, which underlines the high demand and reach. Around 171 employees ensure close networking and flexible support.[3]
Under the guiding principle "We find ways together", the Lukas-Werk positions itself as a companion for every life journey. It shares the vision with the esn: Creating individual solutions for employees and clients, finding happiness together and working in a resource-promoting way.[1][3] Based on a Christian image of humanity, the diaconal company emphasizes values such as appreciation, solution orientation, cooperation with the community and a family-conscious working environment.[1][6] Flexibility, networking and sustainable, economic action characterize everyday life.[1]
Quality is the focus: The company lives a continuously developed quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015, GSB-Qualitätssiegel Reha and Diakonie-Siegel Fachstelle Sucht. This guarantees high-quality care according to current standards.[1]
The Lukas-Werk pursues sustainable goals through resource-saving, solution-oriented approaches and close cooperation. It promotes workplace health to establish addiction prevention in the long term and is involved in initiatives such as the Bündnis gegen Sportwettenwerbung. Workplace addiction prevention aims to maintain health, performance and duty of care - with seminars and support for supervisors.[7][9] As part of the esn, it contributes to social health promotion, for example through training courses such as the seminar on employees conspicuous for substance abuse in June 2026.[3]
The Lukas-Werk combines diaconal tradition with modern rehabilitation and thus creates safe ways out of the crisis - for those affected, relatives and companies.[1][5] With a focus on prevention, treatment and aftercare, it remains a reliable partner in Southeastern Lower Saxony.
