The overarching goal of the LWL-PsychiatrieVerbund, to which the Elisabeth-Klinik belongs, is the best possible psychiatric care for the citizens of Westphalia-Lippe. The clinic focuses on holistic, patient-centered care that sustainably improves the lives of young people. Values such as inclusion, quality and innovation shape everyday life: from the child- and youth-friendly environment to interdisciplinary teams of doctors, therapists and nurses. As a public institution, sustainability and evidence-based medicine are at the heart of promoting long-term healing and resilience.
The Elisabeth-Klinik is strongly committed to sustainability and accessibility. It uses digital tools such as accessible videos and simple language to give all patient groups - including the hearing impaired - access to information. As part of the LWL network, it contributes to environmentally conscious practices, such as efficient use of resources in clinic operations. It also promotes career paths in child and adolescent psychiatry in order to retain skilled workers in the long term and ensure the quality of care. Current initiatives include the expansion of networks with other LWL locations such as Marl, Hamm and Gütersloh in order to strengthen a regional care chain.
As part of the LWL-PsychiatrieVerbund in Dortmund-Aplerbeck, the clinic works closely with the neighboring LWL-Klinik Dortmund for adults and the Wilfried-Rasch-Klinik. It plays a key role in the prevention and therapy of mental illnesses in young people, an increasingly important field in view of the increasing burdens caused by pandemics and social changes. With its expertise, the Elisabeth-Klinik makes a significant contribution to public health care and underlines the LWL's commitment to an inclusive society.
