The LWL-Zentrum für Forensische Psychiatrie Lippstadt is one of the largest forensic psychiatric hospitals in North Rhine-Westphalia and offers specialized therapy and treatment programs for mentally ill and addicted individuals who have committed offenses due to their illness. As the only forensic clinic of the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL), the center also accommodates female patients.
The main mission of the center is to empower patients through targeted therapies to lead a crime-free life. The protection of society is a priority. The values of the center include Improvement, Security, and Sustainability in rehabilitation.
The center places great importance on the sustainable rehabilitation of its patients. Through gradual release stages and preparation for discharge to supported living facilities, it is ensured that patients can be integrated into society in the long term. Additionally, the center offers a follow-up outpatient clinic to support the transition to the rehabilitation phase.
The center recently celebrated its 40th anniversary and looks back on continuous development in terms of structural security and therapeutic aspects. The Eickelborner Conference on Forensic Psychiatry, which takes place annually, is one of the largest of its kind in Germany and offers a comprehensive program for professionals in the field of forensics.
