The foundation provides unbureaucratic and quick assistance to people in need in Bavaria, especially where public or private support is not available in a timely or sufficient manner.
The main mission of the Marianne Strauß Stiftung is to support people in emergency situations quickly and efficiently. The foundation operates independently of public funds and relies on the commitment of its supporters. All donations go directly to those in need without any deduction for administrative costs. The foundation places great importance on transparency and efficiency, which has been confirmed by the DZI donation seal since 2008.

This includes the provision of funds for accessible vehicles, medical aids, and support for integration into society. A notable example is the support of the German Championship in wheelchair fencing, which was successfully carried out despite pandemic-related challenges.
A long-standing partnership exists with Sternstunden e.V., a charity initiative of Bayerischer Rundfunk, which has supported the foundation's individual case assistance since 1993. This collaboration enables the foundation to provide an emergency fund for families in Bavaria each year, which has now helped over 7,000 families.
