The Ministerium für Umwelt, Klima und Energiewirtschaft Baden-Württemberg actively shapes the future of the state in the areas of environment, climate protection and energy. It sets ambitious goals for limiting climate change and shapes energy and climate policy accordingly.
The ministry is divided into seven specialist departments that deal with central topics such as climate protection, sustainability, resource efficiency, circular economy, nuclear energy monitoring, radiation protection, air pollution control, water and soil protection, energy management and nature conservation.

The ministry is committed to a climate-neutral state administration by 2030 and relies on comprehensive environmental and energy management. It is EMAS-certified and signed the #positivarbeiten declaration to send a signal against the exclusion of people with HIV.
The ministry focuses on information and transparency and provides the public with dashboards on the expansion of photovoltaics and wind energy. It promotes the acquisition of areas important for nature and climate protection and supports photovoltaic projects on mobility infrastructures.
Through funding programs, initiatives and close cooperation with municipalities, companies and citizens, the ministry contributes to making Baden-Württemberg a pioneer for sustainable and future-proof development.
