The Mokita Kinderladen in Frankfurt is an open Kinderladen for children from 3 years old until they enter elementary school and cares for a total of 40 children in a small, manageable group.[1][2] It is considered the first vegan Kinderladen in Frankfurt and combines early childhood education with a clear nutritional concept that focuses on fresh, plant-based meals.[1][3]
The pedagogical focus is on a concept based on Reggio-Pädagogik and supplemented by Partizipation, geschlechtersensible Pädagogik and Inklusion.[1][2] Mokita thus attaches importance to an environment in which children can contribute their interests, experience diversity and develop their personalities. The open approach supports self-determined learning, social competence and community spirit.[1]
A central component of everyday life is the vegane Verpflegungskonzept: The Kinderladen offers a freshly cooked, vegan lunch every day; in addition, there is an open breakfast buffet and an afternoon snack, also vegan.[3] Mokita uses , which underlines the demand for a conscious, high-quality and sustainable diet.[1] The offer is therefore not only geared towards child-friendly care, but also conveys an early understanding of ecological and ethical food choices.[1][3]
The non-profit association Veggie-Kids e. V. acts as the sponsor, which supports the Kinderladen organizationally and ideologically.[5] The facility thus pursues not only a pedagogical but also a value-oriented profile: Openness to all children, promotion of participation and a respectful approach to diversity are just as important as a sustainable, vegan everyday life.[1][2][5]
In terms of Nachhaltigkeit, Mokita focuses primarily on plant-based nutrition, the use of Bio-Produkten and a conscious use of resources in everyday kitchen life.[1][3] The combination of vegan food, inclusive pedagogy and a participatory understanding of education makes the Kinderladen a special offer for families who value a modern, responsible and child-centered care concept.[1][3]
