Mühlenhaus specializes in the construction, renovation and restoration of timber-framed houses. The company's construction and proportions are based on traditional Low German hall houses and it builds original timber-framed constructions of the highest quality. Each house is individually planned and built according to customer requirements, making each project unique.
Mühlenhaus offers the possibility of realizing complete timber-framed ensembles, including coach houses, horse stables, granaries and barns. The proven structural properties of the timber frame are combined with innovative design. A high quality standard is common to all timber-framed houses from Mühlenhaus. Only well-seasoned and fine-grained oak beams are used for the construction, which are also treated in drying chambers. Inside, natural pine and fir woods create a cozy atmosphere. Modern building technology, high-quality heating systems, wooden casement windows and fittings from well-known manufacturers complement the traditional construction method.
The company's values include a love of detail in traditional timber-framed buildings. Filigree work and exclusive designs distinguish Mühlenhaus.
Sustainability is a central component of the company philosophy. Mühlenhaus relies on environmentally friendly timber-frame construction with wood as a renewable raw material that binds CO₂. The company considers all building materials in detail in order to continuously improve them and make them more sustainable. KfW-55 houses are built as standard, and KfW-40 houses are also available on request. Wood wool is used as insulation instead of mineral wool, which means that around 90% of the materials used can be reused. Mühlenhaus integrates photovoltaic systems and electricity storage into its construction projects and has extensive experience in building almost self-sufficient houses. For 2023, Mühlenhaus has published a report in accordance with the German Sustainability Code (DNK) to provide insights into the company's ecological, economic and social practices and to set clear goals for further improving sustainability.
