The MVZ Charité Vivantes Radiotherapy is a leading institution for modern radiotherapy in Berlin, founded in 2015 as a cooperation between the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and the Vivantes Netzwerk für Gesundheit GmbH. Since its start with two linear accelerators and a planning CT, it has treated thousands of patients with innovative radiation techniques against tumor diseases.[1][2]
The center offers highly effective and gentle therapies for malignant tumors in all disciplines as well as benign diseases. Core procedures include:
The treatments follow the latest international standards and are individually adapted, often in 2–8 weeks with daily sessions from Monday to Friday.[8] Interdisciplinary tumor conferences pool expertise for optimal results.[2]
Highly effective, gentle therapy is the top priority - supported by innovative technology for precise dose delivery.[2] The close link between university research knowledge and municipal care ensures all-round care: Outpatient or inpatient, with access to clinical trials and continuous quality control.[1][2][3] Patient orientation is central: Individual adaptation, personal advice and room for questions.[2] As a cooperative actor, the team cooperates with general practitioners and specialist disciplines for interdisciplinary care.[2]
Prof. Dr. Martin E. Kreis emphasizes: "It combines state-of-the-art technology with university research for individually tailored, gentle therapies at the highest level".[1] The 30-member team from four professional fields is led by Prof. Dr. med. Daniel Zips (scientific), Dr. med. Axel Madlung (medical) and Dr. med. Johanne Grün (deputy).[1][2]
The institution incorporates research results directly into practice and trains in teaching.[2][9] As a university-municipal success story, it sets standards in Berlin tumor medicine - efficient, local and forward-looking.[1]
