The
The NORDMETALL-Stiftung, founded on January 28, 2004 by the employers' association NORDMETALL e. V., is an operationally supportive foundation aimed at strengthening northern Germany. Our founder, NORDMETALL, represents about 260 companies in the metal and electrical industry with around 130,000 employees in the regions of Hamburg, Bremen, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and northwestern Lower Saxony[5].
Our motto "Promoting talents, strengthening cohesion, enriching the North" reflects our main mission. We support projects in the areas of education and science, society, and culture to maintain the economic and living conditions in the North and create a positive basic climate for economic, cultural, and social activities[2][4].
An important focus of our work lies in social sustainability. The project "QplusAlter" is an example of how we help older people lead a self-determined and socially integrated life by developing individual support networks and promoting civic engagement[2].
We work closely with various partners to create synergies and tackle social challenges regardless of economic fluctuations. Through our funding projects, we contribute to strengthening social cohesion and developing innovative solutions for current problems such as demographic change and the shortage of skilled workers in care[2][4].
The NORDMETALL-Stiftung is a central player in northern Germany, making a lasting contribution to regional development through the promotion of education, science, society, and culture. With our projects and initiatives, we create a positive basic climate for economic, cultural, and social activities and strengthen cohesion in the region.
