The Rheinische Stiftung für Bildung is a legally competent foundation under civil law founded in Cologne in 2005, which sees itself as a supporting and funding foundation. It realizes its foundation purpose operationally through investment companies such as BTZ Berufliche Bildung Köln GmbH and Rheinische Akademie Köln gGmbH as well as through targeted funding activities.[2][5][7][10]
The foundation offers a wide range of educational opportunities aimed at professional and personal development. These include:
Through these approaches, the foundation creates prospects for those willing to learn of all ages and emphasizes: "Training is preparation for a successful future. Further education is securing this future!"[7]
The core mission of the foundation is the sustainable promotion of individual and social development through education - regardless of content, qualification level or formal level. It sees education as an essential contribution to the future of the individual and society and aligns all its actions accordingly.[5][6]
Guiding values include:
The board, chaired by Dieter Päffgen, is driving these convictions forward.[1]
Sustainability is at the center: The foundation promotes unique, independent projects that function independently in the long term - no permanent financing.[3] Through Binas and the Sustainability Fund, it supports associations in professional fundraising in order to transform short-term help into long-term self-help.[4][9] The focus is on new target groups such as children, young people and the elderly in order to make educational opportunities inclusive.[4]
Since its foundation, interest in the activities has grown strongly, which underlines the relevance of the foundation. It combines operational implementation with innovative funding to establish education as an engine for integration and progress.[2][5]
