The Ruhrverband is a public-law water management company without profit-making intentions, operating in the catchment area of the Ruhr. Based in Essen, the association employs 960 people and is the largest of the eleven special-law water management associations in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The mission of the Ruhrverband is to ensure water supply and wastewater treatment, while focusing on people and the environment. Economic efficiency and environmental protection are equal objectives.
