The main mission of the SVR is to provide factual information and to inform and advise policymakers and the public about integration and migration. The SVR advocates for an integration-friendly and migration-politically coordinated society that promotes the participation of all immigrants. Important values include the promotion of integration, the recognition of diversity, and the consideration of humanitarian aspects in migration policy[1][2].

• Integration Policy and Migration Management: The SVR aims for better networking of integration and migration policy and recommends an institutional reorganization to give integration policy concerns more impact. This includes the consideration of shifting integration policy competencies to a department such as the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs[2].
• Residence Rights Regulations: The SVR advocates for the introduction of a residence rights regulation that is independent of deadlines and age for long-term tolerated individuals to improve their integration and humanitarian situation[2].
• European Cooperation: The SVR supports a joint European approach in refugee policy, especially regarding the reception of refugees from crisis and war zones[2].

• Naturalization Behavior of Refugees: The SVR conducts research projects that examine the naturalization behavior of refugees and its significance for the integration process. The goal is to develop concrete solutions to optimize the naturalization process and strengthen local integration[3].
• Regional Integration Barometers: The SVR regularly produces special evaluations of the integration barometer for various federal states to analyze the integration climate and the specific challenges and opportunities in these regions[3].
