The Schulhaus Nachmittagsbetreuung gGmbH, founded in 2005 in Forchheim, is a leading full-service provider of educational and care services at Bavarian schools. From a pilot project at the Georg-Hartmann-Realschule, the company developed into a strong partner in the all-day sector, maintaining collaborations with schools of all types – in open and closed models.[1][2]
Schulhaus offers a comprehensive portfolio that includes all-day care, lunch and diverse support programs. The core is the combination of homework support, leisure activities and socio-educational support, which ensures holistic support for the students. Close cooperation with associations and partners such as 1. FC Nürnberg or the Kinderschutzbund Nürnberg e.V. creates a broad spectrum of working groups (AGs) and leisure activities. These range from sports, music and art to trend sports, social training and scientific and cognitive courses. Since the 2024/2025 school year, FAF Kids gGmbH has been integrated as a subsidiary and enriches the offer with sports-scientifically based exercise programs for all-day and holiday care. Students choose courses, which strengthens initiative and motivation – always without pressure to perform.[5]
Schulhaus's mission is based on a humanistic image of humanity and the principle "Education begins with curiosity". The company creates (experiential) living spaces that awaken and promote the potential, interests and abilities of children and young people. In accordance with the principles of child and youth welfare (SGB VIII), it supports the development of self-determined, responsible and community-minded personalities.[1][2]
As a learning organization, continuous quality assurance is at the center. Schulhaus emphasizes close cooperation with school principals, teachers and the school family – always for the benefit of the child. The corporate culture puts people at the center and promotes individual development.[2][3]
Qualified teams are the heart of the company: The Schulhaus Academy offers free training courses on pedagogy, child welfare, health and social skills – on site, at headquarters or externally. New since 2024/2025: Certification as OGTS coordinator. As a practical partner for universities such as iba Nürnberg, Schulhaus enables dual studies in the Bachelor's field of social pedagogy, including tuition fee coverage, remuneration and high chances of being hired.[3]
Schulhaus is strongly committed to environmental and social awareness, as employee ratings with 2.9 points on kununu underline. As a non-profit GmbH, it prioritizes social values, sustainability in catering and fair working conditions. Cooperations with specialist academies and associations ensure long-term social impact, for example through inclusion and personality development.[1][3][6]
