The Seelsorgeeinheit Rottenburg is an association of ten parishes in and around Rottenburg am Neckar, which together shape Christian life and provide a wide range of offers for people of all ages and in different life situations. The parishes include the Domgemeinde St. Martin, St. Moriz, St. Jakobus (Seebronn), St. Laurentius (Hailfingen), Heilig Geist (Kiebingen), St. Wolfgang (Weiler), St. Konrad (Bad Niedernau), St. Peter und Paul (Obernau), St. Peter und Paul (Bieringen) and the Wallfahrtskirche Weggental.
At the center of the work of the Seelsorgeeinheit is the proclamation of the Gospel and the celebration of the sacraments. It offers regular church services, baptisms, First Communions, confirmations, weddings, confessions and anointing of the sick. In addition, the Seelsorgeeinheit is involved in children's and youth work, family pastoral care, senior citizen work and adult education.
A particular focus is on social commitment. The Seelsorgeeinheit Rottenburg supports numerous social projects and institutions, including kindergartens, the Rottenburger Tafel, the Kleiderkiste "Morizle", the Sozial-Diakonische Beratung, ONE-WORLD projects, the Sozialstation Rottenburg, the Beratungscafé "Coffee to Stay", KARO Rottenburg, the OASE Rottenburg, the Ökumenische Spielstadt, visiting services, a contact group for people with mental illnesses and the hospice service with the Café Silberstreif.
The Seelsorgeeinheit Rottenburg values a lively community life and promotes the cooperation of the various groups and circles in the individual parishes. It offers a variety of spiritual offers such as meditation groups, Taizé services, Late-Night-Church, Laudes groups and Bible sharing groups. An important aspect is also ecumenism, which is cultivated through joint prayers and events.
The Seelsorgeeinheit Rottenburg sees itself as a place of encounter, community and faith where people can find orientation and support. It is open to all who are looking for meaning and spirituality and are interested in a life of faith. The Seelsorgeeinheit Rottenburg wants to contribute to making faith come alive in everyday life and strengthening people in their lives.
