The Stiftung Allianz für Entwicklung und Klima is an initiative platform that advocates for the simultaneous promotion of global sustainable development and international climate protection. Founded in 2020 at the initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and with the support of the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), the foundation is based in Frankfurt am Main and has its office in Berlin.
The main mission of the foundation is to connect sustainable development and global climate protection. It is committed to mobilizing additional resources for sustainable development and raising awareness for voluntary compensation of greenhouse gas emissions through high-quality climate protection projects in countries of the Global South. The foundation aligns itself with the goals of the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreement of the United Nations, aiming to support the 1.5-degree target of the Paris Agreement.
The Stiftung Allianz für Entwicklung und Klima is a central platform for the exchange of experiences, the consolidation and dissemination of knowledge, and the networking of companies and organizations committed to sustainable development and global climate protection. Through its comprehensive activities and initiatives, the foundation makes a significant contribution to achieving the global sustainability goals.
