SPD-Landtagsfraktion Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

The SPD parliamentary group Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is the parliamentary representation of the Social Democratic Party of Germany in the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. As the strongest force after the 2021 election, it shapes the government policy of the federal state together with the DIE LINKE party.

• Thematic focus: The parliamentary group focuses on topics such as economy, social affairs, education, energy and infrastructure in order to improve the quality of life in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
• Citizen proximity: The parliamentary group maintains a dialogue with the citizens in order to include their concerns in the political work.

The SPD Landtagsfraktion Mecklenburg Vorpommern is oriented towards the values of social justice, solidarity and equal opportunities. Its mission is to create a Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in which all people have the same opportunities to live a good life.

Sustainability:

The parliamentary group is committed to the sustainable development of the state. This includes the expansion of renewable energies, the protection of the environment and the preservation of natural resources. It supports measures to reduce CO2 emissions and adapt to the consequences of climate change. The parliamentary group advocates a reform of the grid fees so that people where renewable energy is produced no longer have such high electricity costs. In addition, the Citizen and Municipal Participation Act is being revised so that people on site can benefit better from wind and solar projects.
