The StadtSportVerband Sankt Augustin e.V. (SSV) is the umbrella organization of sports clubs in Sankt Augustin and the surrounding region. Founded on July 11, 2002, the SSV serves as a central link between the sports clubs and the city of Sankt Augustin to promote and maintain sports and youth welfare[1][4].
The main mission of the SSV is to give all residents of Sankt Augustin the opportunity to participate in sports under contemporary conditions. The association attaches great importance to the promotion of popular and health sports as well as cooperation between schools and clubs[1][3].
The SSV is committed to sustainable sports development by improving the infrastructure of sports facilities and promoting child protection in sports. In addition, the association supports initiatives that promote the participation of children and young people in sports, such as the Education and Participation Package (BuT)[3][4].
The SSV is currently looking for a new board to continue to effectively implement its mission and goals. The association regularly provides information about the activities of the sports clubs and the city of Sankt Augustin in order to strengthen the community and promote sports in the region[3].
