The Stadtverwaltung Wilkau-Haßlau is the municipal administrative center of the city of Wilkau-Haßlau, located in the Zwickau district in the Free State of Saxony. With around 9,460 inhabitants (as of 01/2026), the city administration offers a wide range of services for citizens and companies.
The core tasks of the city administration include the areas of registration, passport and civil status matters, law and order, construction, finance, education, youth and social affairs. The administration takes care of concerns such as registrations and re-registrations, the issuing of documents, the organization of elections, the processing of building applications, the management of municipal finances and the care of daycare centers and schools.
A particular concern of the city administration is the promotion of the common good and the strengthening of cohesion in the city. This is reflected, among other things, in the appreciation of volunteers.
In the area of mobility and transport, the city administration relies on forward-looking solutions. For example, the TaktBuslinie 137 has been purely electric since February 2026, which makes an important contribution to environmental protection. The promotion of environmental and nature conservation is also a central concern of the city administration.
The Stadtverwaltung Wilkau-Haßlau strives to continuously improve its services and adapt them to the needs of citizens. For example, since January 2026 it has been possible to register residences and re-register within the town online via the BundID.
The Stadtverwaltung Wilkau-Haßlau maintains partnerships with the cities of Griesheim, Bar-le-Duc and Gyönk. These town partnerships serve exchange and international understanding.
