stendalbus GmbH has been the exclusive operator of the entire public transport (ÖPNV) in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt since August 1, 2018.[1][2][3] With around 40 bus lines, the company serves a dense network of city, regional and school lines, which includes the Stendal district as its core area and offers connections to neighboring regions such as the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel and the Prignitz district in Brandenburg.[2][8] Highlights include Stadtverkehr Stendal, Regionalverkehr, the Landeslinie 900 (Stendal/Tangermünde ↔ Glöwen via Fischbeck, Schönhausen, Klietz and Havelberg) and special Schulfahrpläne, which ensure daily commuting for students.[1][2][8] The offer is supplemented by projects such as Projekt Tango and flexible timetable adjustments to meet local needs.[8]
stendalbus had already been active as a service provider for Regionalverkehr Westsachsen GmbH (RVW) in the district since 2010 and prevailed in a Europe-wide approval competition in 2018, in which all line concessions were tendered in three bundles.[1][2][3] A key success factor is the close involvement of regional bus companies and local partners, whose expertise on specific needs and special features is used - a strategy that will continue in the future.[1][3] As a 100% subsidiary of Transdev Verkehr GmbH, stendalbus benefits from the expertise of one of the largest private mobility providers in Germany, which transports 220 million passengers annually and operates internationally in 19 countries.[1][2][4]
The core mission of stendalbus is: Passengers should always arrive well. To this end, the offer is individually adapted to mobility needs in order to shift traffic from the road to the bus, relieve the infrastructure and protect the environment.[1] High standards in Safety, Comfort and Customer Proximity are in the foreground, supplemented by innovative concepts that make public transport more attractive.[4] Transdev as the parent company emphasizes future-oriented, responsible partnerships and regional design, taking local conditions into account - values that stendalbus fully adopts.[1][4]
Sustainability is a guiding principle: By shifting from cars to buses, environmental protection is promoted, roads are relieved and green mobility is promoted.[1][4] Transdev sets standards in Safety and Sustainability, with efficient, environmentally friendly services that give people the freedom to be mobile - whenever and however they want.[4] stendalbus contributes to this by strengthening and continuously optimizing public transport in the Stendal district as an environmentally friendly alternative, for example through current timetable adjustments for schools or construction measures.[7][8]
stendalbus GmbH combines tradition with innovation: As a regionally rooted player in the network of the global Transdev, it connects people with their everyday life, workplace and goals - efficiently, safely and sustainably. With a focus on passenger satisfaction, it is shaping the mobility of the Altmark for the future.[1][2][4]
