The Technische Universität Nürnberg (UTN) was established on January 1, 2021, as the first new state university founded in Bavaria since 1978. It is an important part of the academic landscape and offers an innovative, interdisciplinary study program characterized by a digital and international orientation.
The UTN aims to be a model for forward-looking teaching and research. It promotes a close connection between science, business, and society to strengthen the Nuremberg-Erlangen-Fürth region and serve as a magnet for national and international talents.
The UTN integrates sustainability into its campus design from the very beginning. The buildings are designed to be environmentally friendly and energy-efficient. This is also reflected in the naming of the campus streets, which are named after significant personalities such as the astrophysicist Luise Herzberg.
The UTN also collaborates closely with other institutions to leverage synergies and promote knowledge and technology transfer. Through these partnerships, the regional economy is strengthened, and the attractiveness of the region for students and researchers is increased.
