    About TUM Klinikum

    Edit

The TUM Klinikum is the university hospital of the Technical University of Munich, established in August 2024 through the merger of the Klinikum rechts der Isar and the Deutsches Herzzentrum München. At the two locations, over 8,000 employees care for around 69,000 inpatients and day patients, as well as approximately 300,000 outpatients, annually.

As a hospital of the highest level of care with around 1,360 beds, the TUM Klinikum covers all major medical specialties. These include heart and vascular surgery, the treatment of heart and circulatory diseases, and surgery for congenital heart defects and pediatric heart surgery. A particular focus is on the care of people of all ages with heart disease.

Embedded in the Technical University of Munich and in close cooperation with the TUM School of Medicine and Health, the TUM Klinikum combines patient care with research and teaching. Together, researchers and clinically active physicians want to advance medical progress and bring promising treatment approaches more quickly from research to patient care. The hospital relies on future technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, IT and digitalization, robotics and molecular biology.

The hospital offers a wide range of career opportunities in various fields, including nursing, medicine, research and administration. Health and nurses, surgical assistants, assistant doctors and research assistants are regularly sought.

The TUM Klinikum sees itself as a place where high-tech meets passion. In the 39 operating rooms, the latest medicine and technology are used, including a high-tech operating area with integrated imaging. This enables not only the performance of complex operations, but also diagnostics and immediate control of the interventions.

The hospital strives to provide its patients with the best possible care while remaining attractive in the competition for the brightest minds. By pooling expertise and resources, a unique range of services is created, especially in the field of cardiac medicine.

The TUM Klinikum Deutsches Herzzentrum looks back on 50 years of experience in the treatment of rare heart diseases and has founded the Ebstein Zentrum München to honor the "Day of the Child with Heart Disease".

The hospital takes its responsibility for the protection of patient data seriously and has implemented a comprehensive data protection declaration that complies with the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
