The Marie-Luise-Schattenmann-Haus is a traditional institution of vij München that has been supporting young women for over a century. Originally founded as a dormitory, it has developed into a differentiated youth welfare facility that offers a wide range of housing and care services.
The house is aimed at female-read trainees, students and pupils from the age of 16 as well as young women and young adults up to the age of 30 who need support in various life situations. Within the framework of youth welfare (SGB VIII) and integration assistance (SGB IX & XII), the Marie-Luise-Schattenmann-Haus offers tailor-made help to cope with problems and difficulties, to promote training, independence and individual personality development.

The aim is to accompany the young women on their way to an independent and fulfilled life and to offer them a safe and stable framework. The institution is committed to integration and opposes exclusion, discrimination, intolerance, xenophobia and violence.
The quality of the work is continuously evaluated in order to constantly improve the offers and meet the needs of the young women. The active participation of the residents in the decisions about their everyday life and their life path is an important concern.
The Marie-Luise-Schattenmann-Haus offers young women not only a home, but also a variety of leisure activities and adventure education activities, such as llama hikes, circus projects and excursions, to promote their personal strengths and strengthen their social skills.
