The housing cooperative
The Housing Cooperative Sigmund Schuckert eG, founded in 1896, is Nuremberg's oldest and largest housing cooperative. It was originally established as "Bauverein Schuckert’scher Arbeiter" to create affordable housing for workers. Today, it has more than 3,000 apartments and around 4,000 members.
The mission of the cooperative is to support its members through good and affordable housing. Values such as Fairness, Affordability, and Social Responsibility shape its philosophy. It places great importance on member orientation and quick repair processing to promote high satisfaction and a stable community.
The housing cooperative is committed to sustainable projects by modernizing the housing stock in an energy-efficient manner and improving the living environment. It aims to keep rents socially acceptable without prioritizing profit maximization. Through the close connection of the members and the long-term security of housing, it contributes to the stability of the community.
The cooperative offers a values-oriented corporate culture with flat hierarchies and diverse development opportunities. It promotes team spirit and a strong community among employees, which is reflected in an open and flexible working environment.
