Wings of Hope

The Wings of Hope Foundation is a non-profit organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria, dedicated to supporting people suffering from the consequences of war and violence. Based in Munich, Nuremberg, and Ruhpolding, the foundation is engaged both nationally and internationally in countries such as Brazil, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kurdistan-Iraq, Palestine and Israel, Ukraine, and Central America.

The foundation offers a wide range of programs and services aimed at healing trauma, fostering peace, and living reconciliation. The main offerings include:

• Trauma Therapy and Counseling: Support for individuals suffering from the psychological effects of violence and war.
• Peace and Dialogue Work: Initiatives to promote intercultural dialogue and understanding, especially among youth and young adults.
• Training and Seminars: Training for professionals in helping professions to empower them in dealing with traumatized individuals.
• Advocacy: Raising public awareness of the societal consequences of violence and the necessity of trauma work.

The mission of the Wings of Hope Foundation is to create sustainable change in affected communities through the healing of traumas, the promotion of peace, and the practice of reconciliation. The foundation places great importance on creating safe spaces where people can experience community and have the opportunity to actively participate in shaping their lives. This work is based on the values of empathy, solidarity, and hope.
