Wohnungsunternehmen Frankenheim eG is a traditional housing cooperative in Nuremberg that has been committed to providing its members with a safe and livable home for almost 100 years. Under the motto "Living well with security," the cooperative provides its members with a wide range of rental apartments for different life situations.
As a cooperative, Wohnungsunternehmen Frankenheim eG places great emphasis on community and solidarity. The members are also owners and benefit from a lifelong right of residence at fair rents. In contrast to profit-oriented companies, all surpluses flow back into the building stock, which is reflected in the high quality and continuous expansion of the residential complexes.
The cooperative manages over 110 residential buildings with around 954 residential units in various districts of Nuremberg, including Ludwigsfeld, Hummelstein, Gugelstraße, Katzwang, Kornburg and Gostenhof. The housing stock mainly comprises two- and three-room apartments, but one- and four-room apartments are also available. The larger residential complexes are characterized by spacious green areas and playgrounds, which serve as meeting points for residents and promote community.
Wohnungsunternehmen Frankenheim eG continuously invests in the maintenance and modernization of its housing stock. In recent years, comprehensive modernization measures have been carried out to increase living comfort and reduce energy consumption. These include the installation of modern heating and electrical installations, the renovation of bathrooms and the energetic renovation of the building envelope.
In addition to providing affordable housing, Wohnungsunternehmen Frankenheim eG is also committed to sustainable development. The cooperative relies on regenerative energies, optimizes the building stock through energy-saving measures and promotes electromobility in its vehicle fleet.
The company celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2025 and looks back on a long tradition of communal living. The cooperative was founded in 1925 as "Baugenossenschaft Bruderhilfe" to counteract the housing shortage after the First WORLD WAR. Over the years, the cooperative merged with other housing cooperatives and developed into a significant player in the Nuremberg housing market.
Wohnungsunternehmen Frankenheim eG is a member of the Verband bayerischer Wohnungsunternehmen e.V. (VdW Bayern) and is committed to its socially oriented corporate philosophy. The cooperative strives to offer its members not only a roof over their heads, but also a lively and supportive living environment.
The cooperative is constantly looking for new properties and existing properties in order to enable cooperative living for even more people in the long term. Craft companies that are reliable and competent are also always welcome.
The company attaches great importance to open and transparent communication with its members. Members are regularly informed about current developments, projects and events via the tenant magazine, the blog and social media channels.
Wohnungsunternehmen Frankenheim eG sees itself as a partner of its members and is committed to their interests. The cooperative strives to offer its members a safe, affordable and livable home - today and in the future.
