The deep wells, which reach a depth of 60 to 140 meters, are characterized by a high level of hygienic and chemical protection, which is guaranteed by powerful cover layers. These wells have a high yield and can ensure the entire water extraction in an EMERGENCY.
A central concern of the ZVB is the protection of groundwater through the designation and monitoring of protection zones. These protection zones are divided into different categories (W I, W II, W III A, W III B), each with specific protection regulations to ensure the quality of the drinking water in the long term. The association comprehensively informs the public about these protection zones and the associated rules of conduct.
