Records and Archives Section Intern
Einführung
The Records and Archives Section Intern at UNHCR in Geneva, Switzerland, involves working with the Research and Access Unit to manage UNHCR records, conduct research, assist in preservation projects, and support the digital preservation program. The intern will also create finding aids, assist in records management tasks, and participate in external engagement events. This position requires a recent graduate or current student with a background in records and archives management, information management, or history. Knowledge of English is essential, and proficiency in other languages such as French, German, or Spanish is desirable. The internship is for three months with a possibility of extension, and the intern will receive an allowance to cover basic expenses.
Aufgaben
- Create finding aids for unlisted collections
- Assist in Preservation Projects
- Undertake research tasks
- Assist in the Records Management tasks
- Support the Digital Preservation programme
- Assist in external engagement events, web/social media content and publications
- Other duties (compilation of statistics, research, supervising researchers, retrieving and re-shelving files, administrative tasks, outreach tasks)
Voraussetzungen
- Recent graduate or current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme in Records and archives management, Information management, History or related discipline
- Working knowledge of English with an understanding of other languages being desirable, in particular French, German, and/or Spanish
- Completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a relevant field
