Aufgaben
- Research, monitor, and document the human rights situation in a specific region
- Write and publicize reports, briefing papers, and submissions to international bodies
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to change abusive laws and practices
- Respond to media queries and engage in public debates on human rights issues
- Conduct fundraising activities when needed
- Present human rights concerns to government officials, opinion leaders, and the media
- Collaborate with NGOs and local human rights organizations
- Ensure effective coordination with HRW staff worldwide
- Travel internationally as required
- Deliver outputs in a timely manner and consistent with division priorities
- Perform other tasks as required
Voraussetzungen
- Advanced degree in international relations, journalism, law, social sciences, or related studies
- Minimum of three years of professional-level experience working on human rights issues in a specific region
- Ability to research, analyze, and communicate human rights developments effectively
- Experience conducting interviews with a wide range of individuals
- Knowledge of international human rights law
- Fluency in English and Mandarin
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and in flexible hours
