
Researcher in Social Justice and Decent Work
Einführung
The position is located in the Research Department (RESEARCH), which conducts research on economic, social and environmental frontier issues affecting the World of Work, driving change and transformations. Research is undertaken in a collaborative and inter-disciplinary manner leading to regular Flagship Reports, Working Papers and Research Briefs for the benefit of evidence-based policy making by constituents at all levels. The main role of the position is to engage in thematic and empirical research contributing to the new series of ILO Flagship Reports on “The State of Social Justice”, a major contribution to the forthcoming Global Social Justice Coalition. In addition, the incumbent will support and participate in the coordination of substantive scoping and consultative outreach for this new series of Reports, including with respect to constituents, external experts and internal departments. The incumbent works under direct supervision of the Senior Researcher leading the development of The State of Social Justice Report.
Aufgaben
- Conduct thematic and empirical research on social justice and decent work
- Provide technical and policy support to the Research Department
- Contribute to the formulation of strategies and policies relevant to social justice and decent work
- Undertake qualitative and quantitative research and analysis
- Draft policy recommendations and provide support with follow-up actions
- Identify and maintain up-to-date knowledge on emerging trends and policy developments on the World of Work
- Synthesize and share good practices and lessons learned
- Participate in the identification of capacity development needs of constituents
- Provide substantive inputs to development cooperation projects
- Support resource mobilization efforts for new projects and activities
