Senior Translator/Reviser
Einführung
The position of Senior Translator/Reviser is located in the Official Documents French Translation Unit within the Official Meetings, Documents and Relations Department (RELMEETINGS). The Official Documents French Translation Unit is responsible for translating all official ILO documents into French (primarily from English and Spanish), including those submitted to the International Labour Conference (ILC), the Governing Body (GB), and regional and sectoral meetings, as well as documents produced by the Office of the Director-General. The Unit is also responsible for the editing and formatting of these documents.
Aufgaben
- Translate or revise texts on a wide range of technical subject areas
- Guide and train translators
- Participate in major ILO meetings
- Liaise with author units and other units involved in document production
- Keep abreast of developments in CATT tools
- Edit original versions drafted in French
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned
Vorraussetzungen
- Advanced university degree in languages or other relevant field
- At least seven years of experience in translation and revision
- Excellent command of French and in-depth knowledge of English and Spanish
- Good knowledge of other official languages of the Organization would be an asset
- Ability to use the most appropriate range of vocabulary and professional, scientific, and technical concepts and terms
- Ability to work quickly, accurately, and calmly under time constraints
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and demonstrate gender-sensitive and non-discriminatory behavior and attitudes
