UASC Consultant (home-based)
Einführung
The UASC Consultant (home-based) position in Brussels, Belgium involves assessing the guardianship of unaccompanied and separated children in Luxembourg. The consultant will work under the guidance of the UNHCR BeLux team to conduct assessments and draft interventions for relevant authorities in Luxembourg. This consultancy requires expertise in international human rights/humanitarian law, child protection, and asylum and refugee law, along with experience in conducting interviews and drafting legal reports. Knowledge of Luxembourg asylum law, child protection systems, and UNHCR policies is essential, as well as strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
Aufgaben
- Assess practice regarding guardianship of unaccompanied and separated children in a specific location
- Conduct internal assessment and analysis of legal obligations and standards
- Draft interventions for relevant authorities
- Conduct desk research and online meetings with stakeholders
- Write assessments and legal reports
Voraussetzungen
- Advanced university degree in international human rights/humanitarian law, child protection, political science, or related field
- Minimum six years of experience in asylum and refugee law
- Experience in working with unaccompanied and separated children or asylum seekers
- Experience in conducting interviews and drafting legal notes
- Knowledge of Luxembourg asylum law and child protection system
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
