Einführung
The Water, Sanitation and Waste Management department aims to help partners in developing countries become more agile and equipped to respond to challenges by implementing projects using public-private cooperation, systems thinking, and data-driven approaches to advance the 2030 development goals. They are seeking experienced water experts to lead projects in technology, finance, institutional strengthening, and partnerships to address systemic gaps in global water systems.
Aufgaben
- Facilitate and coordinate high-level multi-sector stakeholders to develop a cohesive strategy for transforming the water sector
- Lead and oversee the implementation of water sector reform projects in developing countries
- Collaborate closely with ministries responsible for water and sanitation to develop comprehensive reform strategies
- Apply expertise in international standards such as the Water Framework Directive or the Urban Wastewater Directive
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing water management systems and develop customized reform plans
- Provide expert technical assistance, capacity building, and training to government officials and stakeholders
- Foster collaboration among multidisciplinary teams for innovative approaches in water resource management
- Establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks for reform projects
- Stay updated on emerging trends and policy developments in water sector reform
- Advocate for sustainable and inclusive water management practices
Voraussetzungen
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in water sector reform
- Master's degree in a relevant field such as Water Resources Management, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Extensive knowledge of water governance principles, policies, and best practices
- Experience working with multi-sector stakeholders, government agencies, and international organizations
- Strong facilitation and collaboration skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in diverse cultural and institutional contexts
- Proficiency in English, fluency in additional languages is an advantage
