SCIENCE AT RISK Emergency Office

SCIENCE AT RISK Emergency Office is a project of the Academic Network Eastern Europe e.V., which supports scientists and students affected by political repression in Belarus and Russia or by the war in Ukraine. They act as a central contact point for endangered scientists and offer advice, verification, registration and emergency aid. The Academic Network Eastern Europe (akno e.V.) is a non-profit association in Berlin that advocates for academic freedom in the post-Soviet space. Despite being classified as an undesirable foreign organization by the Russian government, leading to a ban on work in Russia and exposing cooperation partners to risks of political persecution, akno e.V. continues to advocate for threatened scientists and students in Russia and other post-Soviet countries.
