Overview

The Theater Chemnitz (officially: Städtische Theater Chemnitz gGmbH) are a five-division theater in Chemnitz, Saxony, and are among the most important cultural institutions in the region[1][2]. Artistic Direction and Staff

Since the 2025/2026 season, Benjamin Reiners has been chief conductor of the Robert-Schumann-Philharmonie and General Music Director of the Theater Chemnitz[6]. With a broad, cross-epoch repertoire and the courage to perform modern works, he is shaping the artistic direction in a sustainable way[6].

The theater employs a total of 478 people[3] and has established artistic teams, including ballet director Sabrina Sadowska since 2017/2018[1].

Children's and Youth Work
